Telefonix Business Cloud Services
If your company is not taking advantage of cloud services yet then let Telefonix Voice & Data help you take your first steps into this new technology which is set to take over from the old way of doing things. Cloud services, regardless of whether it's telephony, mail or data storage, simply means that services made available to users on demand via the Internet, as opposed to being provided from your company's own on-premises servers. Some areas of business are appropriate in the cloud whereas some others may not be as appropriate in the cloud. At Telefonix we already provide telephony and email in the cloud, but we're here as your advisor with links into Avaya and VmWare virtualisation to help you with taking advantage of cloud technology.
A private cloud is dedicated to your company only. Private cloud has various benefits including self-service and scalability; multi-tenancy; the ability to provision machines; changing computing resources on-demand; and creating multiple machines for complex computing jobs, such as big data. Chargeback tools track computing usage, and business units pay only for the resources they use. Private cloud is great for businesses with dynamic or unpredictable computing needs that require direct control over their environments. In addition, private cloud offers hosted services to a limited number of people behind a firewall, so it minimizes the security concerns some organizations have around cloud. Private cloud also gives companies direct control over their data.
The downside with private cloud is management - on-premises IT, rather than a third-party cloud provider, is responsible for managing the private cloud. As a result, private cloud deployments carry the same staffing, management, maintenance and capital expenses as traditional data center ownership. Additional private cloud expenses include virtualization, cloud software and cloud management tools. To reduce an organization's on-premises IT footprint, cloud providers, such as Rackspace and VMware, can deploy private cloud infrastructures; we have significant experience with VmWare and would be delighted to help your company.
Hybrid cloud is a cloud computing environment which uses a mix of on-premises, private cloud and third-party, public cloud services with orchestration between the two platforms. By allowing workloads to move between private and public clouds as computing needs and costs change, hybrid cloud gives businesses greater flexibility and more data deployment options. For example, a business can deploy an on-premises private cloud to host sensitive or critical workloads, but use third-party public cloud provider to host less-critical resources, such as test and development workloads.
Hybrid cloud is particularly valuable for dynamic or highly changeable workloads. For example, a transactional order entry system that experiences significant demand spikes around the holiday season is a good hybrid cloud candidate. For example, a transactional order entry system that experiences significant demand spikes around the holiday season is a good hybrid cloud candidate. The application could run in private cloud, but use cloud bursting to access additional computing resources from a public cloud when computing demands spike. To connect private and public cloud resources, this model requires a hybrid cloud environment. Another hybrid cloud use case is big data processing. A company, for example, could use hybrid cloud storage to retain its accumulated business, sales, test and other data, and then run analytical queries in the public cloud, which can scale to support demanding distributed computing tasks.
