How We Manage Your Backups

• The backup software agent is installed onto the server/s needing protection by our staff
• A backup policy is set for each server being protected, where specific file types, databases and folders that need to be backed up are selected in consultation with the customer. This can often be "all files"
• A backup schedule for each machine is then defined i.e. how often and when the backups take place
• Backups take place without staff schedules or workflow being interrupted in any manner
• Data being backed up is automatically compressed and encrypted using 128-bit AES encryption levels
• Using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, data is transferred over the Internet to a world-class IBM data centre
• The data is then mirrored to a second data centre in a separate location for failover capacity

How We Recover Your Data

• When backed up data needs to be recovered, Telefonix Voice & Data staff open the software
• From here, the multiple file versions of the backed up data on the account can be seen stored within the data vaults
• Either the user or Telefonix Voice & Data selects the files/databases needed for retrieval
• In encrypted form, the backed up data is sent back over the Internet to the defined server
• Upon retrieval, data is unencrypted using installed encryption keys
• Data has been retrieved and original files restored.

Our backup services are delivered as a subscription service. Because it is hardware free for the end-user, the costs of the service are reduced and charged as a simple monthly fee on the amount of data stored.
