IP Office 8

IP Office Basic Edition

With IP Office 8, an edition below IP Office Essential Edition has now been introduced, named IP Office Basic Edition. IP Office Basic Edition is targeted at sub 20 customers, and upgrading to IP Office Essential Edition from Basic Edition now requires a new license. IP Office Basic Edition is IP Office Essential Edition without Mobile Twinning (although Call Forward to the mobile device continues to be supported in Basic Edition) but with a new deployment tool, "Avaya IP Office Web Manager" (web browser system management). IP Office Web Manager

IP Office Web Manager is a new IP Office 8 browser based management tool designed to simplify the installation and maintenance process by providing a management tool that runs on most standard browsers. IP Office C110 Unified Communications Module

A new IP Office C110 Unified Communications Module can be inserted into any of the 4 slots in the IP500v2 chassis and provides on-board support for the following: Preferred Edition support for all system users, User Productivity Package Support & Mobility Server support. The C110 UC Module consumes less power than external servers and therefore presents a greener, less power consuming alternative. The IP Office C110 Unified Communications Module is scheduled to be available in 2012.


BCM 1100 and BCM 1200 IP Handset Enhancements

IP Office R8 largely completes the BCM to IPO migration exercise that commenced when Avaya formally completed the purchase of Nortel's BCM assets in 2011. A number of BCM 1100 and BCM 1200 IP Handset Enhancements have been made in Avaya IP Office v8.


Apple & Android Smartphone Clients for IP Office

IP Office is now fully Apple and Android compatible. The smartphone client applications can be obtained from their respective app stores. The client applications are free of charge but do require that the IP Office on which they operate have Preferred Edition and the required number of Mobile Worker or Power User licenses.

IP Office Salesforce.com Integration

IP Office R8.0 enables integration with Salesforce.com for business users. This integration enables Salesforce.com customers that are using IP office for their telephony applications to control calls from within the Salesforce.com portal itself.


IP Office Outlook Plugin

The IP Office Outlook Plugin allows the user to communicate with the contacts without leaving the Outlook window and without needing to bring up other separate client application.


One-X Portal & Googletalk, IM & Microsoft Outlook

One-X Portal for IP Office in R8.0 introduces a Presence and Instant Messaging Service for IM and Googletalk using OCS, and integration with MS Exchange Calendar.


IP Office IP DECT Gateway

A new IPO R8 IP DECT Gateway connects digital stations to the DECT R4 solution. Also, new IP Office "In building Wireless Server 2 (AIWS2)" and IP Office "IP Base Station 2 (IPBS2)".
