IP phones, known as VoIP phones in consumer parlance, use the Internet as the transmission medium for telephone calls by sending voice data in packets using IP rather than by traditional circuit transmissions of the PSTN. The benefit to the user is much lower charges and integration with computer telephony - the way of the future. On the flipside VoIP/IP telephony has a reputation for poor voice quality, but this is only the case if the internet connection that the system is using is a poor one. We recommend that IP telephony should be coupled with Telefonix business connectivity options to ensure quality of service.

Avaya has 4 ranges of IP phones that will work with IP Office, 2 of which are the preferred models, Avaya's own designated IP Office handsets, and 2 of which come across from the recently acquired Nortel BCM platform.

Why Use IP Handsets?

• IP phones store user settings on the handset itself. So it's much easier to have a hotdesk system with IP phones, just unplug the phone and put it somewhere else.

9600 Range

1600 Range

The Avaya 1600 Series IP Telephones (also known as Avaya one-X Deskphone Value Edition) is a series of cost-effective IP Telephones that deliver familiar features at an attractive price point for customers with basic communications needs. The series includes a portfolio of phones designed to meet a range of end-user needs including the call centre. The series consists of five models, the 16CC, 1603, 1603SW, 1608 and 1616, the latter of which also supports a 32 button expansion module.

1100 Range

The 1100 phone line range is a BCM SIP-ready intermediate-level desktop IP Phone handset range ported over to IP Office with IP Office 7, suited for office phone systems. The 1120E supports presentation of data and Web-centric applications on its high-resolution graphical display & has flexible navigation with the use of standard USB mice and keyboards via the phone�s integrated USB port, whilst the 1140E is a multi-line professional-level call activity phone which delivers leading-edge communication features and capabilities and aimed at knowledge professionals and managers

1200 Range

The BCM 1200 range is a budget line of BCM Ip handsets ported over to IP Office with IP Office 7. The SIP-ready BCM 1220 IP Phone is a single-line, standard-level desktop IP Phone, which encompasses the sleek, cutting-edge ergonomic design of the Nortel IP 1200 Series Telephones, whilst the 1230 is a multi-line, premium intermediate-level desktop IP phonewhich offers a competitive feature set with contemporary styling, best suited for power users with advanced communication needs such as managers, knowledge workers and administrative assistants.
