Microsoft finished Exchange Server 2003 support in April 2009. Mainstream support for the product has now ended so if you're still running Exchange Server 2003, it is time to start thinking of upgrading to Exchange Server 2007. In 2010 you will not receive support from Microsoft if you face problems on your Exchange 2003 installation, unless you purchase the "extended support" option, which is available till August 2014. At the time of retirement of mainstream support, Exchange 2003 will be almost 6 years old. Most of us don't even have computers that are that old. So... it's time to upgrade!
