Avaya Nortel IP Office BCM Norstar Roadmap Announced

Telefonix Voice & Data were present at Avaya's roadmap reveal for the BT Meridian Norstar and BT BCM products. As suspected after Avaya's acquisition of Nortel, the company that made the Meridian Norstar and BCM products, no further major development is planned on either of these products other than bringing them in line with Avaya IP Office, which, going forwards, will become Avaya's SME and SMB orientated telephone system.

"Avaya IP Office, BCM, Norstar, PARTNER® and Integral 5 all remain for sale with a plan to converge the platforms to the company's flagship hybrid IP offering, IP Office. Avaya will blend Nortel features, interfaces and phones with IP Office to create a richer solution with strong investment protection benefits. This approach follows the model Avaya has successfully implemented with other systems into IP Office."
