The Avaya 5402 phone is designed for users and areas where little advanced telephony is required - for example, lobbies or receptions. Since it is specific to the IP Office platform, the Avaya 5402 does not have the additional cost incurred to make it compatible with Communication Manager and is therefore slightly lower priced that the 2402 model, the equivalent cross-platform model.
The Avaya 5402 has a 2 line by 54 character display, with 10 fixed feature buttons including conference, transfer, drop, redial, speaker, messages, hold, mute, volume up & volume down. The Avaya 5402 phone has 14 programmable feature buttons and includes a listen-only hands free speaker (but no microphone). This phone is hearing aid compatible, and has a message waiting indicator which is also used as ringing call alert indicator. The Avaya 5402 allows 8 personalised ring patterns, comes in a multi-grey colour and is either desk or wall mountable.
