Avaya Argent
The Argent was the name of the range of two series of phone systems (Argent Branch and Argent Office) supported by Lucent Technologies, prior to that company's acquisition by Avaya. During its heyday the Avaya Argent Office range was highly successful with figures up to 195000 shipped extensions being cited.
The original Argent Office family is no longer in production but the Office Range has since been upgraded, and the 21st century successor to this best-selling family is the Avaya IP Office range, the most recent of which is the IP500. The IP Office family caters for similar user numbers as the Argent; it looks set to be as successful if not more so: The IP500 is our most popular phone system.
