PBX Telephone Systems

Avaya Gold Business Partner: Telefonix

Avaya's PBX systems range from small office PBXs, to single, one-location company PBXs, to multi-site company-wide enterprise PBXs. In fact, Avaya PBXs are used by more than 90% of the Fortune 500. At Telefonix, as Avaya Gold Partners, we specialise Avaya systems, and their PBX systems are already used by locations and companies throughout the UK, from L'Oreal to the Royal Albert Hall, and from 118-118 to the NHS. If you would like a site survey or a quote to give you an idea of the savings that a PBX could bring to your organisation, or just a general discussion about what PBX and communications technology can do for a business nowadays, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us on 01252 333888.

Not only do Avaya PBX systems come with all the features you'd expect from a PBX, but the thing that differentiates an Avaya PBX from most is the depth and breadth of Avaya software which brings with it extra functionality that no other telephone systems can match.

Avaya's IP500 system caters best for small businesses, as it has a modular nature and low entry cost, whereas Communications Manager is the system of choice for an enterprise-level PBX. Telefonix can install any of these; contact us if you'd like some time with out consultants on 01252 333888 to brainstorm which solution and feature set would be best for your particular business.

The Systems

  • IP500: our most popular telephone system, and can be used in various ways: IP, digital or analogue. The Standard Edition IP 500 System supports up to 32 extensions. The Professional Edition IP 500 supports up to 272 extensions. This system is ideal as a SOHO PBX or a small business PBX; by incorporating everything from on-hold music to follow-me numbers to least-cost routing to extension routing a small office can appear to be a much larger company.
  • The Multivantage system is a mid-sized system for anything between 250 to 1000 users. This PBX System is for mid-size companies and is a budget version of the extremily advanced Communications manager system below, using the same central PBX switch.
  • The Avaya Communications Manager PBX scales from less than 100 users to as many as 36,000 on a single system, and to more than one million users on a network. This system is the most realistic solution for 500+ users.

Why have a PBX?

Having your own PBX for your business offers many clearcut advantages, which is why most businesses tend to opt for a PBX once they reach a certain size:

  • In practical terms, a PBX phone system means you have to have less lines to the outside. This smaller number of lines is then shared out using the intelligence of the PBX system rather than each phone and person having to have a unique and expensive outside line
  • With a PBX system, the company only needs to lease around 10% of the number of company extensions
  • PBX phone systems lead to cost savings on internal phone calls
  • PBX phone systems allows features not available in operator networks such as hunt groups, call forwarding and extension dialing
  • An important feature of a PBX system is control over the numbers that can and cannot be dialed. This can prevent calls abroad, to 900 numbers, or to other costly numbers.
  • Many companies have under-used data networks which can easily be used for PBX systems
  • We can also install your system as a hosted PBX system, delivering PBX functionality as a service. We do this on a case-by-case basis, by offering the full Avaya telephone system service in a lease agreement where appropriate
