Digital Telephone Systems differ from analogue telephone systems through use of digital data. In simple terms, analogue takes the audio or video signal (in most cases, the human voice) and translates it into electronic pulses. Digital phone systems on the other hand breaks the signal into a binary format in which the audio data is represented by a series of "1"s and "0"s. All our Avaya telephone systems can be used as digital telephone systems; and digital systems have the following advantages:
In essence, all our telephone systems can be used as analogue, digital or IP(VOIP) systems, the choice of which is entirely up to yourself. Each type of telephone system comes with its own advantages.
The IP500 is our most popular telephone system, and is usually used as a digital system. The Standard Edition IP 500 System supports up to 32 extensions. The Professional Edition IP 500, a license upgrade using the same equipment, officially supports up to 272 analogue, digital, and IP extensions.
Avaya's IP Office IP 412 telephone system supports up to 360 analog, digital, and IP phones and 12 expansion modules.
The IP Office IP 406 telephone system supports up to 190 analog, digital, and IP phones and 6 expansion modules.
The Avaya IP Office IP SOE telephone system supports 4 analog telephones, 8 digital telephones, and up to 16 IP telephones.
The Avaya One-X Quick Edition telephone system is a minimum budget digital system which requires no centralised telephony server - all the system intelligence is housed in your telephones. Designed for very small businesses with minimal budgets and 10 or fewer employees.
The Avaya Multivantage Express telephone system is a mid-sized digital telephone system compatible with digital phones for anything between 100 to 500 users. This digital telephone system is for mid-size companies and is a budget version of the Communication manager system below, using the same base hardware and telephones.
The Avaya Communications Manager telephone system scales from less than 100 users to as many as 36,000 on a single system and to more than one million users on a single network. Although this digital phone system will work effectively for any size business, it is the most realistic solution for 500+ users. This is Avaya's enterprise-level digital telephone system, it is exceptionally advanced and perfectly scaleable for any business, regardless of size or nature.
