Proving the Business Case

Investing in a new phone system can seem a major investment with no obvious return other than "it's a phone system". In fact, our experience is that this is usually far from the case, as there are some major cost savings that can be proven to generate a very strong business case for the investment.

This is where the Telefonix consultants come into their own. Their first step when talking to you about a new phone system is to go through your existing telecoms costs and expenditures, and to prove a business case to you to make the phone system investment pay for itself. This is usually the difference between approval from the board or not, and it only comes with the experience and knowledge that both parties bring to the table.

These are all examples from recent customers of ours, and they demonstrate how we can help build the business case for you.

Conferencing

The cost of using external conferencing solutions is extremely expensive. The conference facilities on the Avaya IP Office are extensive with 64 party conferencing built in to the system. We calculated and demonstrated that the savings made by Universal Aviation over a 5 year period on conferencing alone would pay for the new telephone system and call recording solution.

Premicells

A recent customers of Telefonix calculated that at their current 8 pence per minute, with 18,661 minutes used, they averaged a monthly mobile bill of £1,492.00. By adding premicells, costing £40/month, this then reduced that cost per minute to only 2.9ppm. For them, this will generate them a 24 month saving figure of £20,448!

VoIP

Stalbridge Linen Services have a number of sites which are connected using VoIP. They have BT surestream between sites. We are all aware of the cost savings of calls between sites but there are other benefits of this solution. Stalbridge had invested in a new flagship facility in the Midlands. Unfortunately they had line issues with BT which lasted for over 3 months. By using the leased line connections between sites they were able to route all the calls through their other sites therefore minimising the impact on their business.

Call Centre

Travel Republic are a rock-solid UK travel company, excellently managed to have been able to avoid the stresses and strains in the travel business in the last few months. They required a Call Centre Solution in order to enable their management team the ability to monitor the individual performance of team members. This allows them the ability to monitor individual users and identify where training is required. A 20 per cent improvement in productivity has reduced head count, saving money and increasing productivity significantly.

Call Logging

We carried out a free trial of a call logging solution for Pimm's Pumps. They had an issue in that calls either came in by DDI or came through the main number and were answered by reception. The receptionist was struggling to get the calls through because their staff could see that it had been answered by Reception and therefore they could avoid the call. We were asked to monitor this to see if a higher percentage of calls were being answered through DDI numbers rather than when Reception tried to transfer the call. The statistics that this solution provided showed that 80% of calls made to a DDI were answered but only 20% through Reception! The solution was for them to operate in groups of 4. A call was transfered by Reception to the correct person but if they did not answer then it would overflow to the other members of the group. This prevented the need for a second receptionist; saving money and significantly sped up call answering.
