School telephone systems have to cope with multiple locations spread over a campus which usually has one central administrative secretarial area. There are many nice things that a school phone system can do to help the school in general. For example, at the Duke of Kent School, staff have access to an SMS message sender which sends emails and SMS messages to parents to update them about matches (ie if it is a rainy day and the match is called off so parents don't come down unneccessarily).
In the US, Palm Beach County School District has a great school bus tracking service so that parents can have up-to-the-minute information on when they need to be at the bus stop to collect their child. Avaya IP500 is ideal as a school telephone system, and comes in two editions - it can support either up to 32 or up to 272 users. This is the system used by most of the examples above.
