Avaya IP Office Soft Phone offers the same functionality and interface as Avaya Phone Manager Pro. The difference is that no telephone terminal is needed and conversation actually takes place using the user's PC. The physical setup must include a headset/microphone connected to the PC's soundcard or USB port. Phone Manager Voice over IP Soft Phone offers a significant advantage for mobile users with remote access to the LAN who can use a 'Internet telephone within their laptop' with all the features available as if they were at the office. It also makes IP Office into a complete PC phone system - in other words a complete phone system without the need to buy handsets.
